Compassion will save the human race.

We all know the phrase “Faith in Humanity restored”. It is fair to say that we have been off course for a long time considering we all live together on this planet.

The current COVID-19 challenge we are facing will force us to consider the “human” in humanity again. It has created awareness of a common goal, or in this case a common enemy.

For us to survive this pandemic we will have to access Harmony (or Green on Spiral Dynamics theory). We don’t have the luxury to ignore the plight of others as this has become our plight as well.

Have you seen the picture of the man in Spain feeding his sick neighbor’s dog from a balcony below?

The world has been obsessed with our own need for power and success for too long, creating a self-portrait of invincibility. This crisis is forcing us to reconsider our lens of how we see the world. It is forcing us to connect with compassion and empathy again. Nature will always correct imbalances, just not in the way we thought it would happen.

#COVID-19 is a serious threat to all of us, but it also presents new opportunities and change. Let’s be human again.
